Meet the team
John Purdy
Chief Executive Officer, Ergo
Having co-founded the company 16 years ago, John Purdy has made Ergo one of Ireland’s most successful IT companies, transitioning the firm from focusing on the sale of IT Commodities to providing software solutions and IT infrastructure services to multinational customers. A graduate of Cranford University, London, he has qualifications in strategic management and marketing and is a member of the Irish Management Institute. His strong views on IT are regularly heard through the media and at conferences and events.
Mark Kenny
Chief Financial Officer, Ergo
Joining Ergo in 2000, Mark Kenny brought a wealth of experience in financial management including three-years as Financial Controller of Eircom Retail. Prior to this he has worked as Financial Director for a desktop publishing company in London and for a Swiss retail firm in Moscow. Mark has played a key role in the growth and development of Ergo in the last nine years and has been instrumental in improving both the Management Information Systems and working capital management of the group. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, he sits on both the Ergo and Ergo Software Solutions Boards of Management.
Michael Mongan
Chief Operations Officer, Ergo Software Solutions
After 11 years as regional CIO at AIG, Michael Mongan brought his international experience to Ergo where he has made a significant contribution to software development and delivery as well as the consulting side of the business. His expertise in operations, change management, strategic and tactical planning has helped strengthen the company’s management capability. A graduate from Trinity College, Dublin, he has also been pivotal in project and programme delivery for the company.
Marc Murphy
Sales Director, Ergo Software Solutions
Appointed Sales Director in 2005, Marc Murphy’s broad business experience and creativity have made him a trusted advisor to CIOs in some of Ireland’s leading institutions. He has a proven track record in financial services where his innovative approach has helped many organisations overcome business and technology challenges alike. His approach to solutions development and deployment has enabled many client organisations to meet their objectives in terms of functionality, quality and, most importantly, timeliness. Marc’s primary degree is in Software Engineering, reflecting his early career. He also holds an MBA from Dublin City University.
Frazer Furlong
General Sales Manager, Ergo IT Infrastructure
Having been with the company for over a decade and previously worked for Ergo as Commercial Operations Officer, Frazer Furlong is now responsible for the full range of IT Infrastructure services, from infrastructure and systems projects to network design and delivery. IT products also fall within his remit, ranging from consumables to significant storage devices. He is also responsible for steering the consultancy division, and ensuring that a client’s strategic outcomes are achieved.
Les Mc Avinue
Operations Manager, Ergo IT Infrastructure
A long-standing member of the Ergo team, Les Mc Avinue came though the ranks, developing wide ranging skills, first on the frontline of supervising service delivery and increasingly as part of the management team. Along the way he picked up a diploma in management from the IMI and is currently embarked on the ITIL Service Management Foundation Course. As Operations Manager for the IT Infrastructure division, he oversees delivery of everything from Managed Print Services to network design.
